Edit a single instance of a bill

I have a recurring bill, X. Today is Dec. 12. I want to edit the Jan 4 instance of X. When I try to do this, I am told that I can edit all instances of X, but not the single upcoming instance. This is not at all helpful, and seems like I should be able to do this. Is there a way to do this?

I'd simply post the 1/4/20 incidence of the bill and then edit that.
