Date ranges still not working properly in category reports

I had this issue in Premier 2017 and still have it in Online 2020 with the new build to correct animations in one-step update.
When I select a saved report, often there is no response at all.
If I create a new report, I can only use last week, last month, last quarter.
Last year and custom date ranges approaching 1 year yield no response at all from the report generator.
I was able to make a report from 8/1/19 - 1/4/20 but could not go back to 1/1/19 or 1/2/19.
There is a huge bug here.
