How to resolve placeholder N/A

The instructions to resolve placeholders doesn't work for me. I have tried the suggestions, but still end up with an entry that has N/A as the cost. I have entered a date before the placeholder, but that doesn't remove the N/A. When I click on Done, it just gives me another box to fill out and that doesn't fix it either. Just seems to be a loop in logic

If you haven't already, I suggest you delete the placeholder transactions.
Before making any significant changes to your data file, always save a backup: press Ctrl + B
Select Edit > Preferences...
Right-click on each of the placeholder transactions in the investment register and select Delete.
Now, enter the appropriate transactions.

Thanks for this. It had been frustrating me to resolve.
