What is LastPass?
shezeebee
LastPass is a password vault

How about a screenshot of this message?
Since I don't use a password to open my Quicken file, I've never seen or heard of this error, even though I use Roboform for a password manager.

I get the following message even though I have updated my Quicken and have the latest version.
Mandatory Quicken Update Required.
In order to continue, you must update Quicken now.
This should only take a few moments.
Quicken for Windows
Go to Help > Check for Updates
If you do not see this option, you will have to download and install an update from the Quicken support site. Click here to download the free update. Select the download that matches the version of Quicken you currently use (2015, 2016, or 2017).
Quicken for Mac

What does Quicken show at Help->About Quicken? Need to know the x.x.x.x part.
shezeebee
Need to know the x.x.x.x part. I don't know what that means. I looked in the Help>About Quicken section. Lots of restrictions listed. Perhaps that is the problem.

Start Quicken normally (not from LastPass), then do
Help->About Quicken
, that should show a # in the form of x.x.x.x.
If that is not possible, find the qw.exe executable file and show the Windows properties, what is shown on the Details tab of those Properties, it should have the x.x.x.x # also.

Year: 2020 Version R23.21 Build:27.1.23.21
Is this what you are asking about?
splasher
27.1.23.21 is the latest release of subscription Quicken, so Quicken is not referring to any valid Quicken update.
What happens if you start Quicken through the normal Quicken program icon? If if works, then this is definitely a LastPass issue.
I would be looking at what LastPass is trying to run when you click on Quicken in it. Is it pointing to QW.EXE in C:/Program File (x86)/Quicken?
shezeebee
Thanks for your help. I will follow up with LastPass
splasher
I think that is your best bet as it looks like LastPass is trying to run a patch release file and not the Quicken program.
