Hiding a security in the security list does not take it off of the portfolio page!!
Cookiej
The security has a new name or class. The old one has no shares. Clicking hide in the Security list doesn't remove it from Portfolio listi.

If the security name/class was changed, you likely need to enter a Mutual Fund Conversion transaction. (Enter Transactions button) I would not rely on the download from the brokerage/MF Family. If you have already accepted such downloaded transactions, I would delete them and then enter the MF Conversion. BACKUP FIRST!
You may also need to change the customization of the portfolio view (list) you are looking at.

On Portfolio page - Top right side - see Options & Click arrow to find option to open or close lots. I don't know if it was recently added or we just didn't find it. Works great!

Hiding a security in the Security list only hides it from selection lists, not from reports or Portfolio views.
In the Portfolio views as
@Cookiej
points out, you can control whether closed lots are shown. You can also customize the views and reports to control which securities are included.
