How do I change Category from Investments:Dividend Income to a Non-taxable and/ Trust?
mac.chinsomboon
I have several Non-taxable accounts, IRA, SEP, Roth, and Trust. I would like to have each Interest and Dividend Income to have a category that is specific to each type of account. But I can't seem to be able to edit the category. How do I do this for transactions that have already been downloaded (prior to me changing the type of account to that non-taxable type). I'm using the most updated Quicken for Mac on a subscription. Thx.

Are you currently using the Investment categories (i.e., _IntInc, _DivInc, etc.)? If so, then I think those categories are editable so no subcategories can be added...at least I haven't found a way to do that and that is something I have sometimes wanted to do.
What exactly are you trying to accomplish? If all you want to do is to simply break out the interest and dividends paid by each account separately from each other in the Investment Income report, you should be able to subtotal that report by account.
At a minimum you really should update each account to identify them as either taxable or non-taxable. If you don't you'll never get accurate tax reports and your Tax Planner will not provide you with a good tax picture.
