Gibberish register entires that won't delete

My Quicken has about five entries at the very beginning of the register for my checking account that make no sense, can't be deleted or edited, and have not been fixed, even though I:
1. Validated and repaired the file.
2. Tried to create a year-end copy (wouldn't copy)
Screen capture attached to show what I'm seeing...
Help?

Hello Lou,
Thank you for giving those steps a try, although I apologize that this issue continues to persist.
One last idea, can you create a manual account and move these transactions into the account and then delete the account?
For steps on moving transactions, please review the information available here.
Let me know how it goes!

Looks to me like your Quicken data file is irreparably corrupted. When's your last backup that doesn't exhibit this condition?

Have you tried deleting them from a banking transactions report?1

Unfortunately, I ignored this problem for quite some time hoping that an update would just clear things up.

I’m not quite sure how to do that. I tried deleting them in the register but that didn’t work.
Can you direct me to instructions for this?

In the Reports menu, Banking, Transactions, use the gear icon to customize the report selecting the account in question. If the report runs and shows the transactions, there is an option to delete under the Edit pull-down in the report.
You might also try moving the transactions to a new Cash account and then delete the account.0 -
Tried it. No dice. Any other suggestions welcome before I have to start from scratch...0
