What are you trying to accomplish?  Do you want them to have the same name and symbol?  Or different names and different symbols?

I have the same fund listed with different security names and use the same symbol so that's ok.  It's not really proper but I setup the the same fund in different accounts and gave them different names a long time ago. So the same fund is scattered around.  like I have Vanguard GNMA listed as
    VG GNMA and
    VG GNMA IRA Husband and
    VG GNMA IRA Wife.

Listed In 3 different accounts and 3 different Security names but all have the same symbol.

I'm staying on Quicken 2013 Premier for Windows.

As mentioned - You can make the "name" anything you want.... it's just text...
BUT the "symbol" is the key and must be unique.
Also as mentioned above - you can have the same "security" in one or several or all of your account....   like AAPL or AMZN or VTSAX
