How do I open pop-up registers?

Question

If the "pop up register" feature lets you see more than one register at at time, how do I open more than one? I have the box checked for using pop ups, but what do I do next? Clicking on an account from the account list opens that register, but the register that was already open disappears- I can only see one at a time.
