Your purchase nowadays is for a subscription. With the subscription, you can download the Windows version and/or the Mac version. Quicken Mac will import your Quicken Windows file -- for most people, pretty smoothly. Going the opposite way, Mac to Windows, is difficult, if not impossible, depending on your accounts. In short, consider Quicken Mac a one-way migration. You cannot co-exist between the Mac and Windows worlds.
Also note that Quicken Mac and Quicken Windows have a fairly significant number of differences beyond the basic user interface. For many people coming from Quicken Windows to Mac, the Mac version meets their needs and they don't look back. But some people find certain features missing in the Mac version compared to the Windows version to be either an annoyance or an impediment. You could read hundreds of posts on this site about such issues, but my suggestion is to ignore that noise (some of which is out of date) and simply try the Mac version. You can purchase a subscription and get your money back within 30 days of purchase if you determine Quicken Mac isn't for you. So try importing your Windows data, give yourself a little time learning and getting used to the Mac interface, and see what you think. (You can continue using your Windows version in parallel during that month if you wish.)Quicken Mac Subscription • Quicken user since 19935
