Is it possible for the Memo Field to be memorized and autofilled like the Payee Field.

I am listing payees for checks in the Memo Field. I would like to be able to autofill the Memo Field since the checks we write are nearly all to the same Payees.
I would also like for the Category Field to be populated based on the Memo Field for checks. Is this possible.
Thank you for any help.

Are you showing the Check number column in your account register? Doesn't sound like it.In each of the checking account registers, click the Gear icon that's immediately above the right slider bar ... and check "Check #" to display this field. Also, is that payee field being populated from a download from your bank? Or are you inputting it?Your bank only knows what's on the MICR line of the check. It doesn't/can't know the payee name or the Category (categories in a split transaction) that you want to use. SO, particularly with checks, it's advisable that you manually input the transaction when you execute it.

re: the the Payees for these checks. Why isn't the payee name in the Payee field?re: categorizing the transaction based upon the memo field ... not currently possible.

Thank you NotACPA. The Payee Field for checks is populated with the check number only. I am a new user so I do not know how to get Check Numbers put into a different category and then hand enter the payee names which would be helped by a memorized payee list. Is this possible0
