Budget Report Net Difference adds Actual and Budget

The attached images shows my Windows Quicken version and an image of my question. All the categories appear sum the budget report correctly but the bottom total "Net Difference" adds the Actual and Budget versus subtracting the two. It has to be something simple I must of done wrong in setting my budget up, note first time created.
Thanks for share any ideas to correct this.

The difference between 1 and -1 is 2. It appears you budgeted for a loss and actually made a profit.5

Your report shows that you budgeted for a loss of 4541 which is reported as a -4541. Your actuals for the period, however show that your income exceeded your expenses by 4388. therefore your net for the period was an increase of 8921 relative to budget, because you under-spent significantly.

Yes my budget will have large expense items in future dates so the "difference" needs to be higher saving up for those large expenses so it does make sense. This became obvious after you explained. Thanks0
