Is it possible to recover a specific account from a backup file? If so, how?

In one of my accounts, data was deleted when I performed an update using One Step Update. For some reason, when performing the update, the account wasn't recognized so I needed to use the link function to the existing account.

Sorry, but NO. Both Backup and Restore include the entire file. You can't pick-and--choose what accounts to backup or to restore. What you MIGHT try, however is restoring to a different file name and then Exporting the specific account to a QIF file and then importing that.Take a backup of your current file before doing this ... just as a precaution.
