There should be nothing you need to do going from 2017 to Subscription. You can perform a backup of your data file as a precaution.

Before you upgrade you should purchase a subscription. If you buy from Quicken.com, the subscription is activated immediately and associated with the Quicken ID you used for the purchase. If you buy from a retailer, you should be provided with an activation code you use when you install the upgrade to activate the subscription and associate it with the Quicken ID associated with the data file.

To install Quicken 2020, I suggest you download and open: https://download.quicken.com/windows/Quicken.exe
