How to enter transactions for one account when mutual fund changes
Robert Petrie
Using Quicken Deluxe with Vanguard mutual funds. Account created which is not a single mutual fund. The Total Mkt Index was transferred to Total Mkt Index Admiral, reducing administration charges. The symbol was VTSMX and is now VTSAX. This was not a taxable event and no cash was transferred out or in. What ACTION code(s) should I use?

NOTE that cash doesn't have to be transferred for their to be Cap Gains. If you SOLD VTSMX and
BOT VTSAX, there would be no cash transferred ... but still Cap Gains.
The Conversion tool is the way to handle this.
