Instruction in HELP are for Windows. In Mac cannot find a Tools button. Found a Edit Security button/menu but no Edit Types. Need a Mac route to menu NEW security type starting from ? Transactions or Portfolio view - and a clue to where the next step (button, tab, menu) is would be helpful.
FYI – Windows instruction:
1. Click the Investing tab.
2. Click the Tools button, and choose Security List.
3. Click the name of any security.
4. Click Edit Security Details.
5. In the Edit Security Details dialog, click Edit Types.
6. Click New.
7. Enter a name for the new security type.
8. Click OK.

You cannot create a new "Type" of Security in Quicken for Mac.
You will have to use one of the pre-defined types.0 -
What type of security do you have that needs this? Maybe we can figure out an alternative for you.
