saving transactions

I can't save a transaction nor get a new line for another one.

    Can't save a transaction WHERE?  Because you posted this in "Questions about using the Community" and not a an area that pertains to any particular Q product.
    SO, What product are you running, and what BUILD of that Product (do HELP,About Quicken on a PC, or Quicken, About Quicken on a Mac to get this info).  Also, if it's available, what's your "Valid Thru" date found there?
    What sort of account?  And at the VERY topmost line of your Q window, what's everything that it says after the RED Q icon?
