WHY DID MY VERSION update today, 16 May 2020?

What version does the Help -> About Quicken show?Note I don't keep the old release notes so I can't help you on that, but I can tell you if you got an update that was already released before the support cutoff date.
And for what it is worth from what I have seen the automatic patch updates are still active for Quicken 2017.  For some reason they didn't get cutoff yet.  Most likely they will get cutoff in the future.  Most likely this is just an oversight on their part.
