Registers & Transactions (Windows)
Is there a way to Remove all stocks from one account and Add them to another new account.

Due to large number of transactions, the present stock account is slow to open. Using Window 10 with latest update and Quicken 2020 version R26.23 and Quicken software on internal SSD and its data files on external SSD.

We may move stocks from one account and add them to another account. There is even a
Shares Transferred Between Accounts
wizard created to automate the task: open the source account, press
Ctrl + N
, and select
Shares Transferred Between Accounts
in the
Enter transactions:
pull-down menu.
I suggest you access the data file in a folder on an internal drive.

There is also the relatively new ability to archive transactions involving securities you no longer own. This moves the transactions to a new "-Archive" account, hopefully improving performance in the original account.
