QuickFill rules aren't updated when clearing memo

Hi, I appreciate all the improvements you've been making to QuickFill transactions. I did notice that the memo field in an existing QuickFill rule isn't updated when clearing the memo after using the rule in Quicken Deluxe 2020 5.16.1. Specific reproduction steps:
1. Have an existing QuickFill rule that has the Payee, Category, and Amount fields specified.
2. Use the rule to create a new transaction, and add text to the Memo field before saving the transaction.
3. Verify that the QuickFill rule now has the Payee, Category, Amount, and Memo fields specified in Window->Payees & Rules-> QuickFill Rules, as expected.
4. Use the rule to create a new transaction, and clear out the autofilled Memo field before saving the transaction.
5. The QuickFill rule still has the Memo field specified in Window->Payees & Rules-> QuickFill Rules. I would expect it to be cleared after step 4.
Workaround is to manually edit the QuickFill rule to clear the Memo field.

@lemondjeff I tested what you reported above and agree: if you create a transaction from a QuickFill rule which has text in the Memo field, and save the new transaction with a blank Memo (and without changing the category), the rule is not updated as you'd expect.
If you change the memo field from what was in the rule to any other text, however, the rule will be updated. And if you change the category while blanking the Memo, it will save that as a new rule -- with a blank Memo field.
One more note regarding your workaround: if you edit the rule to contain a blank Memo, you can check the box to "lock this rule to prevent changes to it when editing a transaction" and then the rule won't be changed each time you create a new transaction with a memo.
And here's an easier workaround I found while testing this: type a space in the Memo field, instead of leaving it blank. Quicken will then update the rule as expected.
I suggest reporting the case of the blank memo field as a a bug under Help > Report a Problem. It probably won't be seen by the developers here.Quicken Mac Subscription • Quicken user since 19936

Thanks, I didn't notice that you could report a problem from within Quicken. I sent them the issue.1
