401K stock price does not match what Quicken downloads

Some of the stock prices in my 401k do not match what quicken download. My administator says they are a plan specific price plan not marke price. So how can I update these?

This is not an uncommon situation (oftentimes it involves plans established by insurance companies and/or small employer plans), however it does present challenges.  Unless the plan's (or administrator's) website (assuming there is one) for the plan actually has a download function, you will likely have to manually update the prices in Quicken.  

To do that - you can:

1) Open the 401k account in Quicken;
2) Click on the "Holdings" box at the top of the page;
3) Right-click on the name of the investment you want to update, and scrool down to "Price History";
4) Click "the "New" button at the top of the pop-up window;
5) Enter the appropriate "Date" and the "Price" and click "OK"

Also since these securities in your 401(k) in Quicken have different prices than the publicly traded versions, you should edit the securities and delete any ticker symbols defined for them. You should also locate the securities in your security list and un-check Download Quotes for them. This will prevent Quicken from downloading the incorrect prices in the future.
