It might take a while, but do TOOLS, Memorized Payee List ... and DELETE all of those redundant payees.BUT also take a note (on paper) of what they are. Because you can use RENAMING RULES to change "Kroger #732" and "Kroger #809" to both read simply "Kroger" ... which I suspect will prevent your list from getting overgrown in the future.AND do EDIT, Preferences, Data entry and Quickfill ... and set the value for "Remove Memorized Payees not used in __ months". Users (even the SuperUsers) disagree upon what the appropriate value should be (mine is set to 4 months) but this will help to keep the list clean when you ALSO UN-check "Automatically memorize new payees".My Memorized Payee List only has 17 (frequently re-occurring) items on it. BUT I also have things like my annual Real Estate Tax payment and the annual Homeowner's insurance payment set up as "Bill Reminders" ... and those don't need to be "Memorized Payees" also.

More details, please.
Why would you want to hide the Payee List?Is it growing too large? What edition level, year and release of Quicken are you using?0 -
Yes, it is way too large!! And the same payee appears in different categories and amounts. So i dont want to see a payee in only one category, i dont want to see a payee with a specific amount. Given its size, and that is has sometimes the wrong information, i find it distracting and not helpful.0
