Down loaded transactions were not automatically categorized, Why?

Hi All
I am new to Quicken, I just did my initial download of all my transactions and Quicken did not add categories to any of them. I did go to make sure preferences were set right. Can someone help me or do I need to go in and manually ad categories? Thank You in advance!
