"xfer bal" transactions between old and new CCs messing up Quicken balances/categories

I have a Citi CC in my Windows Quicken. Citi created a new CC, I activated it in August and added to Quicken. When I downloaded transactions, old card transactions, from *MAY* on (already reconciled and paid), have been transfered to new card but without categories. Online balance on old card is now 0 but it still has an ending balance. So, do I delete from old card any matching transactions and enter the categories on the new card transactions? Or should I just enter one wash transaction on old card to zero out the ending balance and leave the categories alone? Will this give me the right reports at year-end? (I've already told Citi that they've messed up my Quicken

I would have used this FAQ

You probably still can by deleting the newly created account.5
