Can I move Quicken Deluxe 2013 from one computer to Quicken Starter Edition 2014 on another computer
marytaz
I have Quicken Deluxe 2013 on one computer that I need to move to a different computer (I have Quicken Starter Edition 2014 on that computer). How can I accomplish this?
Thanks!

Just install Q Deluxe on the 2nd computer. Since that product is out of support, after installation you'll need to go here to get the updates to the program since it was first released:

You only need to download and then install the R12 Mondo patch. It includes the earlier patches.
Then take a backup of 2013 on that computer, directing the backup file to a USB drive or such, and use that backup to RESTORE to the computer that previously had 2014)
You'll probably want to take a backup of Q2014 also, before you do this ... just in case that it's data is more current than the Q2013 data.

You can only have one version of Quicken installed. The 2014 Starter Edition won't open your 2013 data file (unless it is also the Starter Edition). The 2013 program won't open any 2014 data files.
You can also download 2013 Deluxe for free using this how to convert article. It’s under Converting from Quicken 2004-2009. 2013 is the last good version before they started requiring an ID.
