How to install Quicken 2010 from DVD on new computer and update?
Grouchy
Got a new computer and tried to install Quicken 2010 from DVD and update. It won't update as it sends me to a non-existent site to register.

See UKR's comment at the end of this thread for instructions on how to bypass registration of older Q products.
AND, the website doesn't exist any longer because Intuit no longer owns Q.

After you get it installed, you'll need to go here to get the Patch updates to QW2010, since Quicken no longer provides them:

After you install Quicken 2010, I suggest you download and apply the Quicken 2010 R10 Mondo patch from:
http://www.quicknperlwiz.com/quickenpatches.html
To disable the registration prompt: press
Left Ctrl + Left Shift
and select
One Step Update

OR....You should at least try to convert to the 2013 version since you don’t use any online services or download transactions now. Starting in 2014 they instituted an ID password to get into your own data. I’m staying on 2013.
You can download 2013 Deluxe for free using this how to convert article. It’s under Converting from Quicken 2004-2009.

Terrific support! Did the update. What's the advantage of going to 2013? I have Premier 2010 but don't use the investments or download features.
