lost transactions in reports when charge account deleted

i was under the impression the transactions would remain in reports if account is deleted?

    No it won't.  A report is nothing more than a "query", with the results being displayed as a report.

    What is "queried" is the Quicken database, and that database is made up of accounts which in turn have transactions in them. It is these transactions that provide the data in the query/report.  If you delete an account your delete all the transactions in it.
