Tracking moves between accounts

One of my brokers creates new accounts every so often and transfers the holdings between account. My question is how when an account A has some of its assets transferred to B and later some assets are transferred from B to C how do you get quicken to report statistics that rely on the origin (A) rather than the initiation date of the current account?

I suggest you use the Shares Transferred Between Accounts wizard to allow Quicken to enter the appropriate Removed and Added action transactions to maintain the cost basis of the holdings across the accounts: open the source investment account, select Enter Transactions and Shares Transferred Between Accounts in the Enter transaction: pull-down menu.

After using the Shares Transferred, for the reporting include all the accounts and group accordingly. I prefer the Investment Performance Report for a performance statistic.
