Can you help me get a report which shows items by transaction (income and outgo) organized by category?

Hi @rebekahmulder & @olinrich

I would suggest that you try the following:

1) Click on "Reports" > "Banking" > "Transaction"
2) When the "report" opens - choose your date range (which offers a number of options);
3) Then, in the "Subtotal by:" dropdown - select "Category";
4) And finally, in the "Sort by:" dropdown - I suggest you use "Account/Date".

Let me know how that goes and if you have any followups.

I can't get mine to work either.  I can expand each category, but no way to show all the categories with their transactions

You might try Reports > Spending > Itemized Categories and click on Update to Show and Transaction detail
