Is this ever being fixed - unable to update program when your administrator account has 2 words?

Hi, my Administrator account on Win 10 has 2 words: "Primary User." Quicken has a bug where it won't update unless I create a new account on my computer that has one word, but that takes up 15GB of space to do so.

Will it ever be fixed, or please can it?

I've got no idea if Quicken will ever fix this, but have you thought about changing the Windows ID to "PrimaryUser" or "Primary-User" or anything that isn't two words?

Seeing as I doubt that your name is Primary User, it can't be an ID that you are attached to sentimentally.

Windows won't allow it. I can change the name on your login screen through Settings, but the folder structure is forever "Primary User." :(

Just create a temporary Administrator account (or enable the hidden Administrator account). If you use a Microsoft account, Windows creates the user folder name without spaces so I doubt Quicken will change.

Windows did make it with a space, alas, but unhiding the admin account looks like it will work, and I didn't know it was there. Still, a very clunky workaround for one program. Thanks.

You created a local account in Windows 10. If you use a Microsoft account, there is no space since an email address is used.

I'm pretty sure this is a carry over from Windows 7 where spaces were allowed in the actual folder name.  I don't think under any circumstances that Windows 10 will allow a folder name with spaces to be created.

I stand corrected; meant to be specific for the system User folder.  That is where the issue lies and of course the way Quicken codes it's update packages which does not work around this long known issue.

FWIW, if you create a local Windows user account with a space in the username, Windows will create the User folder with the space. If you create a account using a Microsoft account (email address), there will be no space since they aren't allowed in email addresses. Also, the folder name will be truncated to the first 5 characters.
