How do I post a transaction from a third party payor, like Square or Paypal in which they add fees?

for example. I charge $138 and they pay me $133. The $5 is a fee they charge up front. I can't figure out how to post it that it doesn't change the register amount.

You make it a split. The first line of the split is for the gross amount. The second line is a negative amount for the fee. The net amount of the transaction is the amount you actually get.
