Negative Prior Balance on Reconcile

I reconcile investment accounts monthly to statements (unless there isn't on for that month). On one such account when trying to reconcile the previous balance shows as a negative amount. I'm not sure where I made an error or if it was me. Suggestions on how to move forward as it is out of balance on the reconcile if I go forward. Thanks

What type of account are you talking about? Since credit cards typically have negative balances (you owe money) and they reconcile all of the time.

It was an investment account. When I tried this morning to reconcile, I had a negative beginning balance but was in balance ($0 difference) after items marked. So I guess whatever the problem was cleared up. Thanks for your help.
