I have to use the Transfer category to balance my PayPal account and my BofA credit card account PayPal uses. So how do I add my Expense Category also?

I only use my PayPal account to purchase things when I can't use a credit card directly.  Those purchases are automatically then charged to my connected credit card account.  I ignore the PayPal account transactions (I don't even have a PP account in Quicken) and just categorize the transactions once they are in the credit card.  If you want to know how much you spend via PP, create and add a Tag to the credit card transactions designating them as PP.
To answer your original Quicken, there is no way in Quicken for Windows to categorize a transaction and also have it as a transfer.

@splasher - Thank you for your quick response. You are correct that maybe I shouldn’t even put PayPal in Quicken since it is just an Intermediate step
