Using MAC 6.1.1 unable to update split to correct

@GMB Can you provide a little more information about what you're trying to do and where you're running into a problem? Typically, you can double-click a transaction to edit a split at any time, or to create a split if one doesn't exist. Are you having trouble doing that, or something else?
