The program closes when I try to enter a new security ie Invesco that is not on my list. why? Seems that not matter what I try, if it is not on my original list of securities the program rejects it and closes. So, does this mean I cannot use this Quicken program anymore?

I suggest you attempt to create the new security manually:

To add the security, go to Tools > Security list and click on Add security. Other paths for adding a security may not work correctly.

In the dialog that comes up, leave the security name blank and add it manually by clicking on Click here at the bottom. Follow the directions from there and hopefully you will be OK.

Then you should be able to go to your investing account and buy the security.
