How do i clear calculator in account register payment/spend entry boxes ? Can't make numerical entry

Suddenly unable to clear calculator from account register payment/spend boxes. Unable to make normal numerical entry

Can you tell us which versions of Quicken and Windows you are using? The calculator always appears in the account register columns that accept amount (or numerical) entries when you click in those fields. That doesn't mean you must use the calculator to make an entry. If you click outside of a column that accepts amount entries the calculator should disappear. [edited for typo]

To close the register calculator, press the Esc key.
If you're attempting to use the number pad for numerical entry, you may need to press the Num Lock key-1 -
BTW, you don't need to click the calculator icon to open the mini calculator.
Tab into the field and you can use the keyboard directly to enter a calculation, e.g., 100+5+25[Enter]
Works in all amount fields in the register and Split transaction view and other views.
