If not, can I just use the new 2020 1 yr license on my 2019 quicken premier?

With that CD there should be an activation code. You use Help -> Enter activation code, to extend your subscription. As for the CD they make nice coasters.Signature:

as mentioned .... by @Chris_QPW- all you need is the Activation Code card from inside the retail package box,or the email that an online retailer should send you....You then just enter that Activation Code into your current Quicken Help menu screen to extend your expiration date.
You don't have to re-install the software....it's all the same -

BTW - on the subject of Windows 7 -I've had to upgrade from Win98se --> Win7 --> XP --> Win10 -because at some point, when MS dropped support for these OS - the Quicken install software would check the OS, and NOT install on an UN-supported OS..... so I had to upgrade my OS, even though everything ran fine -Guess the Quicken installer is not checking anymore.... Since 2018 Quicken has be "Quicken Subscription". That means as long as you keep the subscription active you always have the latest version. So there isn't an "upgrade" between 2019 and 2020, they are the same program/version.
I might add though you might be on "borrowed time". Quicken Subscription requirement state that Windows 7 isn't supported. And several people have stated that they have had problems installing Quicken Subscription on Windows 7.Signature:

Hey Chris, thanks for your response. I'm running versions R32.10 build 27.1.32.10. NewEgg sent Quicken Premier 2020 on CD. I had expected a minimum of new color schemes instead of only Grey and White background. However you have noted it's all the same and I haven't seen any change. Hopefully I can use the new license with my 20NN quicken premier. I have been a quicken user since 1985. Yeah good Old DOS days on a 8086 when things were simple without leasing BS. Considering Quicken keeps hounding me about purchasing a 1yr subscription they should support any issues I have using only the new 1yr license. I pay my bill thru my bank and download transactions to quicken. That all I do. Sadly and because quicken has no loyalty to the hundred of thousands of users still on win7 (The security issues are BS) this will probably be my last year with Quicken.0
