What's the secret to deleting a Placeholder?

Placeholders are adversely affecting Cash Balance even though I've entered all required Buy information. How do I get them to function correctly?

    You can delete the placeholder if it has been resolved, i.e. It is for 0 shares.

    If not resolved, deleting will affect your current share balance.

    If you have not already, make the Placeholders visible by going to Edit > Preferences > Investing transactions and selecting Show hidden transactions.

    Then you can delete it just the way you delete any other transaction: Click once on the Placeholder in the transaction list (register) to select it then hit the Delete button.
