You might want to make sure your Write Check preferences (in the Edit menu) box to Show Check Pay option is not checked.

mine is not checked, yet the pop-up keeps coming back no matter how many times i tell it go not show again. any ideas?0

Does it think you have checks to write? See if any transactions have Print or PRN in the check # or reference column and blank it out.
I'm staying on Quicken 2013 Premier for Windows.
