in a brokerage account, why are the stocks shown in the cash account, instead of "showing cash in a [separate] checking account" as requested?

Stocks are shown in the checking account?  I don't know how that is even possible.   Is it that you are seeing references to stock transactions, such as, dividends paid, stock purchases, stock sales, etc.?  Those are not the actual stock transactions which should still be shown in the investing account.  Instead, they are simply showing the cash flow of those transactions.
If you really are seeing actual stock transactions in that checking account, would you be able to snip it, save the file and then click and drag it to your reply post?  A picture can be worth a thousand words and will help to get some productive responses.
