Won't allow me to rename an account

I added a credit card, which comes in with the standard name CREDIT CARD Xnnnn. I renamed the account, which I have done often to accounts in the past. It appears, but whenever I do an update for all my accounts, the CREDIT CARD Xnnnn name comes back. When I only updated that one account, it persisted. Suggestions?

If you are syncing to Mobile/Web try doing this and after you have renamed the account:
Edit -> Preferences -> Mobile & Web -> Reset your cloud dataSignature:
