How to add interest and not stocks bought into a transaction for one account?

In this account, click on the Transactions tab
Click New
In the Type field, select from the drop-down menu Income (Div Int, Dist) > Interest
Enter the date
Enter the Interest amount
It isn't necessary to enter a Security name here, since this is just cash being added to your account, but you can enter the Security for later tracking if you wish
Click Save
