Tag column width adjustable in 2-line display mode? [edited]

In a modern software, it should be possible to change the column widths on the second line of register details.
I rarely use the Tag column, but I do use it. It would be nice to shrink that down to see more of the Memo field.

The Quicken register code is far from anything called new or modern it is probably 25-year-old code custom built for that purpose.

I would imagine it is a royal pain to make any changes in it.

In fact this is stated as one of the main reasons why the new rewrite of Quicken Mac doesn't have a two-line mode. To do it requires non-standard customized code that won't age well over time when Apple changes its libraries.
