Pruning old data
ssllii
My Quicken data file has something like 35 years of data. I want to prune the earliest 15 years to reduce the size. Neither the backup or archive option is doing what I want, or maybe I am not interpreting the explanation correctly.
I want to prune the oldest data and maybe keep all data starting from 1/1/2000, but keep all my online account setup. What is the best option?

I suggest you select
File > Copy or Backup File...
If you want to
prune
and keep the
online account setup, I suggest you choose
Create a year-end archive
and set the current file start date to 1/1/2000. Note: This will only
prune
the reconciled, non-investment, non-transferred transactions.
If you want to
prune
all
the prior transactions, I suggest you choose
Create copy or template
but you will need to set up the
Online Services
again.
