I wish to create a new investment category instead of just "Investing"

I am using Quicken Canada. All of my investment accounts are categorized as "Investing". How can I create a new category of accounts?

You can't add new "groups" to the account bar.

You can change the Account Intent to put in in another section, but that is about it:

Also one way to display groups of accounts is via customized Investing > Portfolio views. You can create views that include just the accounts that you want. For example I have views titled Holdings, Holdings taxable, Holdings deferred, and Holdings Roth.

Quicken recently added 10 additional customizable views.

Its the Account Intent I wish to augment. I wish to keep track of my points balances in an investment account but do not want the account being mixed up with my real investments. An investment account works really well to track the increases and increases of my various points accounts as each points account is identified as security and I can assign a dollar value to each point.

To separate an account from the others as you describe, you can go to the accounts Display tab and mark it Separate. This will move it to the bottom of the Accounts Bar and exclude it by default from your net worth and reports
