transactions from my bank are downloading with a different payee than the payee I wrote the check to

What's causing this? Isn't happening with any other accounts like credit cards and the bank website shows them correctly.

    The financial institutions don't scan the payee information, and as such it can't be provided to Quicken.
    The "best practices" is to pre-enter checks so they have this information and can be matched to the downloaded transaction when it come in.
    (I'm always using the latest Quicken Windows Premier subscription version)
