Conversion of MLP to corporation

I have an investment in an MLP which recently converted to a public corporation and I don't see one of the investment options that will permit me to record it.

    How about using the "Corporate Acquisition" action?

    That would start a new holding date and make it necessary to treat the existing position as a sale.

    Not true.  The Corporate Acquisition process carries the original holding date over to the new holding.  It assumes the acquisition or conversion is a tax-free exchange.

    In my specific case, it works to just characterize the transaction as a name change, which is what I did.
