Very Large Register, How Can I Clean it up ?

I started using Quicken in 2005 so my register is very long and large. Is there a way to archive and/or remove a lot of the older records without effecting the account reconciliation balance ? Thanks in advance.
Why? It is not necessary. You can sort and filter if you don't want to see as much. My file has over 54K transactions. It's not a problem and very useful to be able to search way back when something comes up.Quicken Mac Subscription; Quicken Mac user since the early 90s0
@20aussies I agree with @RickO; I have early 70,000 transactions going back to 1993.
But to answer your question directly: no, there is no way in Quicken Mac to automatically purge data before a specified date. You can do it manually, but it can be a real mess to get all your account balances correct.
If you'd like some more information about this history of this issue, you can read this post I wrote a few months ago about why archiving data is not a feature in Quicken Mac and whether or why it might be added in the future.Quicken Mac Subscription • Quicken user since 19931
