If I close a credit card account will the transactions appear in reports?

Yes. Closing an Account doesn't wipe out the history of transactions in that Account. Those transactions are still available for reports if you include the Account by selecting it in the "Accounts" tab of the customization screen.

On a related note, you may want to think twice before closing the account. Closing is irreversible and does not do anything you can't do in other ways.
