Why can't I update? I have never been able to update Quicken since 2018.

I get this message every time, have never been able to update Quicken. I have Quickbooks in same computer. Still using version R36.45 Build 27.1.36.45 error message below:
The process cannot access the file'C:\ProgramData\Quicken\Inet\Common/patch/quickenPatch\w2773\base\ScreenShare\Quicken.Screenshare.exe'because it being used by another process.

R36.45 came out in December 2021, so you have been able to update until recently.

As for the current problem I suggest that you try installing the latest Mondo patch from here:
Update and Mondo Patch: Subscription Release of Quicken for Windows
